| Road Trip! Driving to Lazy Bear |
We left early evening on a Monday and drove straight through to Portland where we stopped at the "Dirty Duck", a place frequented by the Bears of Oregon. After a short stop we drove through the darkness, past the "Spruce Goose" until we hit 101. We stopped there, couldn't find a place to stay, so we pulled the van into a parking lot overlooking the ocean and spent the night there.
We headed south, stopping at just about every "scenic vista" and park we could. We took our time and really enjoyed the surf, wind, sand and all the coast has to offer.

 After breakfast in Lincoln City, showers in a state park just beyond there, we stopped here for our first "walk on the beach" of the trip. |

 This little movie (1200 KB) is just Jack and Barry running around like a couple of goofballs on the beach. It reminded me of the time Mom, Dad, Buzz and me took the 3 Westies (dogs) to Lincoln City in 1975. The dogs and Jack and Barry ran in circles like maniacs until they were worn out. |

 .... at this most spectacular vista point, the owner of the RV was taking a picture of his rig -- with the hiway in the background -- not even the ocean. Oh well. We each value different things. |
 We took our time. We stopped at so many vista points. I didn't record their names, or even take pictures at most of them. |
