I won't miss this double sink and the impossible to clean tile counter.

Demolition has begun. Notice the "tuna shelves". We had removed plenty, but there were so many skinny shelves where all you could store was tuna.

Looking better already!

Where the dishwasher was. Cupboards gone from south wall.

It took 3 loads to the dump. Over 4,000 pounds of plaster, tile, concrete, wood -- everything but the kitchen sink. (That goes to the dump later along with old electric stove.)

You can't really see it, but there is an electrical nightmare to be replaced.  Remember the TV show Green Acres?  Just like Lisa Douglas, I had make sure I didn't use in too many electrical gadgets at once.

Looking up the top half of the old "stairway of death". I still can't believe someone designed a staircase that is so impractical.

This 2nd front door, which we never used because we put the refrigerator in front of it, will be removed.

Jack had done all the work. On this one day I helped haul stuff to the dump and pull nails from the studs and joists.
MVC299S.JPG
There was a combination of drywall, plaster, wire mesh and concrete used through the kitchen.
