Driving to See the Mouse

After 2 full days in Vegas, we left after a breakfast buffet and finally winning some back money (I left "Lost Wages" about $120 ahead) we drove across the desert to Los Angeles.  Along the way we stopped at the place with huge roller coaster, but my belly was even more huge and I couldn't ride it.

We arrived in Anaheim in the afternoon, checked in to the most fantastic hotel, and went to Disneyland for dinner and fun.  When ever I am at Disneyland (I've been there about 6 times) I always have a Monte Cristo sandwich at the restaurant in the Pirates of the Caribbean.  This time I was skunked -- never made in to the restaurant.  So another trip is being planned for the future.

Jack can't find these sun glasses now. Have you seen them?

For some reason, I'm always fascinated by these type of long, straight roads in the middle of nowhere that vanish on the horizon.

A little low quality, 9 second movie to better show the huge scale of the lobby of the hotel. (This is 1.3 mega bytes -- if you have a slow connection, it could take a while.)

That isn't all carpet. Near the rock walls, it is marble and semi-precious stone.

The only picture of the new park I took.  This mountain is part of great water ride.  This mountain supposedly cost more than the entire original Disneyland.
We spent 3 nights and days at Disneyland and California Adventure.  We were there between the spring break for school and summer vacation.  We didn't have many long lines or crowds.  We also had a pass which allowed us to jump from one park to the other as much as we wanted and gave us head of line privileges.
