These 5 days were the focus of the road trip. We attended a Square Dancing convention
in Santa Clara, California over the 4th of July weekend in 2005.
The theme/title of the convention was "Star Through the Silicon Galaxy".
There are hundreds of calls in square dancing, like do-se-do and allemande left.
One of the calls is "star through".
Stars go with galaxies and outer space; Santa Clara is the heart of the Silicon Valley
so the theme of the convention was outer space. It was a lot fun.

dressed in drag for his comedy competition for the title of
"Honky-Tonk" Queen. He won the prize with his lip synching
plus cowboy rope handling.

the dance clubs that is part of the Seattle Puddletown Dancers.

The Fun Badge Tour is sort of
like "guerilla" square dancing. Five or more bus
loads of dancers get up very early in the morning and take off a
tour of the city, stopping the dance for a few minutes at
unlikely places.
This particular stop was at the
Rodin Sculpture Garden at Stanford University.
Gregg wears a "GIRL" badge,
because when we start dancing, that is the position he takes.
